Olsdorf Cemetery (German Ohlsdorfer Friedhof or (formerly) German Hauptfriedhof Ohlsdorf) - a cemetery "Park of Sorrow and Beauty" in the Olsdorf district in Hamburg, the largest park-cemetery in the world as a non-military cemetery. It was founded at the end of the 19th century. The area of the cemetery is about 400 hectares. It has over 280,000 graves and one and a half million burials. The cemetery has 4 entrances to public and private transport and 25 bus stops. The cemetery park is a significant attraction: it is visited by over two million tourists a year. In addition to majestic mausoleums, there are sculptures, ponds, birds, rhododendrons and a funeral museum. It is one of the greatest tourist and recreational attractions.
